That lingerie is some of the wildest things I’ve ever seen. The Pomodoro collection… really lives up to its name??? 🍅

I 100% agree with your feelings about Every Summer After. Felt too YA and I don’t love the trope of second chance romance from high school. Her other books are great if you haven’t read them yet! And yay, I’m happy to read your thoughts on Private Rites. I knew it’d be hard to follow such an amazing debut, so I’ve been keeping my expectations low but I’m still excited for it!

I was curious about her other books, so I’m so glad you said that! Will definitely give them a go the next time I’m in the mood for something summery.

I’m dying to know how you’ll feel about Private Rites, as my fellow Our Wives fan club member. I think there’s so much more to say about it!

Okay! I'm here to talk about rewatching SATC because I have similar thoughts: it's so different in your 30s. First, in my 20's, I thought these women were so grown. They were 35! They obviously had it together. Then I turned 35 and learned that we're still floundering! Still love it, but it's a different experience for sure. Carrie's behavior is so often reprehensible and selfish and I'm embarrassed that I couldn't see that a decade ago.

Yes!! I felt the exact same. And even though I’m cringing through a lot of it (so many offensive comments or entire plot lines! So many bad decisions) I’ve also found a lot more meaning! Particularly around friendships. The ironic thing is that I think a lot of us needed to hear what they’re saying in our 20s, but we couldn’t hear it until we’d lived through that ourselves!! hence why why we were able to justify their behavior and choices more easily back then. Sigh. I’m just glad I don’t have to get it together in the 2 years left I have before 35 😂

I adore Every Summer After but I get where you’re coming from!! I just love both friends to lovers and second chance romance SO much that I think the YA vibe didn’t bother me because of that?

Also my copy of Margo should be here this weekend and I cannot wait to dive in!!!!

That is so fair! I’m an enemies to lovers girl (idk what that says about me) so this is on me 😅

Hope you enjoy Margo!!

I'm in the UK but have always wanted to visit NC and now you've tempted me even further! It sounds amazing.

I haven't seen Under Paris or Twisters yet but I neeeed to see both of them. I love a ridiculously bizarre and unrealistic film.

someone told me the UK actually gets more tornados than the US per square mile or something?! So I need more UK-based opinions on Twisters

I think I’ve heard this too! But we’re such a small country that you guys probably get more, just statistically it looks like we do 😂 My boyfriend and I have actually booked to see Twisters on Sunday! Not sure if you guys have 4DX or something similar but we’re watching it in a 4DX screening so it should be great!

Bird girl summer for real. With every passing year I become more into birds - what does that MEAN? I can’t believe I used to think they were boring 😪

Laughing at you wondering if My Brilliant Friend is THAT good - probably not. But do you think I’d like it? I’m interested in entertaining the No1. I liked Days of Abandonment but I didn’t LOVE it. Idk where that leaves you on your decision to read it. Love Olympic summer also - makes me think I made an L on dropping all my sports by the time I was 18, could’ve been me 😌 glad you had such a lovely holiday!!! sorry the heat is so oppressive living in climate change is so much fun xx

Idea, we petition for bird watching to become an Olympic sport and then we have a chance to start over

Lmao bird watching at the olympics? Slay x

OK... so my friend told me that the Neapolitan Quartet is amazing but that My Brilliant Friend is all setup and NOT the best one. She said, it's ok... but it just gets you ready for what comes next which will blow your mind. I think I am going to read it this month.

Interesting! Does your friend recommend to read ‘My Brilliant Friend’ first because of the set up it provides?

Eeep! Finish the quartet and do days of abandonment later! Days of abandonment feels like

It could have been written by a totally different author, in a fun way. Like you’re getting a really unique and temporary version of Elena…

I loved lying life of adults as well :).

I loved Kinds of Kindness. It’s been almost two months since I saw it and I’m still thinking about it. Yes, it’s weird. But it’s also great storytelling and fantastic acting.
