may i recommend buying an NFT tag off amazon & using it like a brick? it’s a little round disk, you can buy like 20 for $10 and you can set it up in your phone to block your screen time same as a brick! it’s been a game changer for me

wow i had no idea this was even possible. genius! i must try it, thank you!

oh i loooved permanence! water cure is my fave mackintosh but there's something so dreamy about all her books

Steph Halchin's avatar

dreamy is an excellent way to put it. water cure and cursed bread are maybe tied for me, i have such a hard time deciding but the water cure definitely was so incredible to me at the time i read it because i just hadn't read anything like it. but now i must elevate permanence...

Fever Dream!! This book was riveting. I also feel like I need to read it again.

Steph Halchin's avatar

yes! it was also short enough that i could probably just do it in an afternoon, so i really should!

The audiobook was really good. I was only the edge of my seat the whole time.

Thank you for such an insightful review about Victim, I really appreciate it.

Steph Halchin's avatar

Love your review of victim and it makes me wish you were in the book club meeting!! It really contrasts to how I reviewed the book, but I do v much agree with your highlighting of the (trigger warning) straight man. Something that I feel like if we had more time in book club we probably would've got round to interrogating that aspect of identity politics more (convo veered into race and socioeconomic vibes more than gender). I think your closing line is 10/10 on that review
